Courseware Customization
Adding new video movies is easy
You can use one of the new MPEG video cameras and create digital movies almost instantly. Here are the steps:
- Record video directly to an MPEG file with your MPEG digital video camera.
- Perform any editing necessary. You can use an MPEG editor program. Several shareware programs are available.
- Copy the video file to the course folder (directory).
- Put a "Movie" command in the appropriate script referring to the name of your new file.
If you're not fortunate enough to have an MPEG camera, then create your video in the conventional way. Then use an AVI or MPEG encoding card to create a digital video file from your video tape. Here are the general steps:
- Record your video with a conventional video camera.
- Perform any editing necessary.
- Encode (digitize) the video tape using an MPEG or AVI encoding card.
- Copy the video file to the course folder (directory).
- Put a "Movie" command in the appropriate script referring to the name of your new file.
Your new video files might be:
- New course content
- Existing video tapes you've converted into a Mastery platform course
- Elements of an entirely new course you're making from a MODIFY Course Shell
It's up to you!
