Overview

This training provides workers with an understanding of the risk of hearing loss and how to prevent permanent damage. The three part hearing conservation program is discussed; the program consists of testing, training, and protection. The video describes each attribute of the program and how it is beneficial for hearing protection.

One of the first things described in the video is how sound waves are translated in the ear and how hearing loss can occur. A detailed illustration demonstrating this is shown. The training video shows the causes for short and long term hearing loss. Firing guns, being exposed to vibrating or noisy machinery can be contributing factors. Both can be damaging and the video cautions everyone to take preventive measures when it comes to hearing conservation.

If correctly used, equipment such as ear muffs and ear plugs are effective in protecting your hearing. Various forms of ear protection are available, such as soft plugs and protective ear buds, and can be customized to meet your needs. In addition to wearing them properly, cleaning and maintaining protective equipment is just as important in hearing conservation program. Use this video training to teach your workers how to save their hearing before damage occurs.
