The online training course HAZWOPER: Fire Prevention teaches employees how to prevent and safely extinguish different kinds of fires using the proper hazardous waste operations and emergency response tools and methods. Chemicals fires can be difficult to control and require specific firefighting techniques. They not only pose a risk for employees but they can threaten the surrounding community as well. Toxic, smoke and corrosive fumes blow down wind and create a hazard for others.
This online video trains workers on fire basics such as the heat and fuel requirements a fire needs to burn and how flash points can cause substances to spontaneously combust. The video course discusses how to prevent chemical and other fires by being aware of and eliminating potential risks, including exposed wiring, high temperature lights, and other heat or spark sources. The online training examines the different classes of fire such as combustible, chemical and electrical and which methods can and cannot be used to extinguishing different fires.
Workers will learn how to safely evacuate from a building that is on fire and filled with smoke. This online course creates a safer workplace by teaching employees how to prevent chemical fires, extinguish various classes of fire and how to safely evacuate from a fire.
