HAZWOPER: HAZMAT Labeling

The online training video “HAZWOPER: HAZMAT Labeling” teaches employees who work with or around hazardous materials how to read and understand labels on hazardous material. This online course discusses the Department of Transportation (DOT) label requirements and the meanings of the DOT and United Nations number and icon labeling systems.

The video training details the different DOT classes of hazardous materials. These classes include explosives, corrosives, gasses, and infectious materials. The online video demonstrates how OHSA's Hazardous Materials Identification System (HMIS) operates. The HMIS uses a color coded numbering system to display risks, and uses letters and numbers to demonstrate the specific personal protective equipment needed for certain substances.
