Overview

Poor indoor air quality is bad for our health. This online health and safety training video gives an overview of an indoor air quality guide created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to help everyone prevent, identify, and correct indoor air quality problems.

Viewers learn the symptoms of poor air quality which include irritation of the eyes, nose, throat, or skin; plus coughing, dizziness, headaches, shortness of breath, and fatigue. Employees should notify a supervisor if they have ongoing symptoms since long-term exposure to air-borne contaminants can lead to health problems, such as asthma and emphysema. This course explains the three main factors affecting indoor air quality: ventilation, sources of contamination, and building occupants.

This online training helps employees understand the importance of air quality and demonstrates ways to identify and correct poor air quality.
