This training focuses on preventing slips and falls in construction environments. Focusing on safety on surfaces is important in these environments. Unfinished structures can be dangerous as well. The course demonstrates to workers which areas are most dangerous, and the safe work practices they should use to remain safe.
This course covers hazard recognition, guarding barriers to make open areas safe, toe barriers (to prevent secondary hazards), and wall areas. Stairs are usually not the cause of accidents; it tends to be user error. However, to minimize risks, all stairs must have safety features to help prevent injury as much as possible. Handrails, good tread, and fixed ladders (with cages) are safety measures important to climbing in a construction site. Scaffolding is the last section in the training. Supported scaffolds and suspended scaffolds are used on construction sites and require the use of fall protection.
Use this course to provide workers with an overview of safe work practices they should keep in mind while on the job.
