Overview

This training course focuses on hand safety for on-the-job hand and finger protection. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 27 percent of all workplace injuries are hand and finger injuries. In terms of lost-time on the job, hand and finger injuries are second only to neck and back injuries.

Prior to having personnel perform any tasks, a thorough review of all company safety policies and procedures must be conducted. Workers must demonstrate proper understanding of all aspects of hand safety. This course explains the risk of hand injuries for industrial workers, those exposed to heavy machinery or chemicals. It outlines the numerous potential hazards and dangers existing in the workplace. It provides common-sense suggestions revolving around proper planning and development of safety procedures.

Proper implementation of these practices is what leads to the prevention of serious hand and finger injuries. Use this training to explain the work practices employees should use to keep themselves safe while on the job.
