Bacteria are essential for sustaining life; however some bacteria create health hazards. This video training discusses MRSA, an antibiotic-resistant staph infection that infects millions of people every year. MRSA infections are particularly dangerous because they weaken the body’s defenses and can result in the loss of a limb or the loss of life. MRSA thrives in close quarters and can be transmitted from employee to employee or their families if steps are not taken to keep bacteria in check. This video discusses how to recognize MRSA, and how good personal hygiene and cleanliness at work can prevent MRSA infections.
Practicing proper first aid is emphasized, along with good housekeeping measures to ensure the cleanliness of the workplace. Particular attention is paid to disinfecting items frequently touched by multiple people, such as equipment switches and controls, door knobs, light switches, push plates, phones, lockers, changing rooms, faucets, computer keyboards, computer mice, exercise equipment, break rooms and cafeterias. Measures to prevent MRSA outbreaks if an infection is discovered are explained.
This video is appropriate for any workplace. It alerts people to the seriousness of MRSA, how readily it can spread and what the consequences can be. Help your employees raise their awareness of MRSA and preventing it in the workplace with this training video.
