Hearing loss caused by noise is permanent. This health and safety video explains how loud sounds can damage hearing and what you can do to prevent noise induced hearing loss.
Viewers learn sound energy is measured in decibels, and the higher the decibels, the louder the sound. Normal conversations are about 60 decibels, office environments are 65 to 70 decibels, and industrial plants are 85 to 95 decibels. The longer you are exposed to higher decibels the greater the risk of hearing loss. This training video emphasizes the importance of using ear plugs and ear muffs and shows how to properly use them.
