Over half of adults say poor or insufficient sleep affected their daily activities at least once in the past week. We are all susceptible to fatigue and its effects on our work and health, however, shift workers, particularly those with alternating shifts or odd-hour shifts, are at increased risk for issues due to sleep and fatigue. This month we released a new course, “Managing Sleep: Feel Awake & Rested” to help employees improve their sleep and reduce on-the-job accidents related to fatigue.
The new course explains the biological processes affecting our sleep, the stages of sleep, and best practices for sleep hygiene and shift work. We also released a “Concise Version” of this course for refresher training, or for those who only need knowledge on an awareness level.
