Overview

Our eyes are a critical link to the world around us. However, our eyes are fragile, and if the proper protective methods are not followed, they may become permanently damaged. There are numerous hazards to our eyes both at home and at work, so it is important to spot these potential dangers and insulate our eyes from harm. Everyone at work can be affected by some harm to their eyes; from eyestrain in an office to flying debris in a construction site. Use this video and learn about typical eye injuries and how to prevent them.

Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE, is one to way to protect your eyes. While it is perhaps the most important, one other area you need to focus on is simple awareness. You need to be aware of the environment in which you work and be on the lookout for potential hazards. Being aware of your surroundings and wearing the proper PPE, both demonstrated in this video, vastly reduce the likelihood of injuries to your eyes. However, accidents, and injuries, do happen. This online training video prepares workers to deal with eye injuries on the job site.

Eye injuries can be gradual, they can be slight, or they can be catastrophic. Utilize the material in the On Demand training lesson and understand how to recognize the threats your eyes face, as well as how to best prevent them.
