Eyes: Eye Safety in Construction Environments

Our eyes are a critical link to the world around us. However, our eyes are fragile, and if the proper protective methods are not followed, they may become permanently damaged. There are numerous hazards to our eyes both at home and at work, so it is important to spot these potential dangers and insulate our eyes from harm. Everyone at work can be affected by some harm to their eyes; from eyestrain in an office to flying debris in a construction site. Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE, is one to way to protect your eyes. While it is perhaps the most important, one other area you need to focus on is simple awareness. You need to be aware of the environment in which you work and be on the lookout for potential hazards.
