Overview

Many think when an accident occurs at work only an accident report has to be completed, however in many situations a thorough accident investigation has to be conducted. This is done not only for documentation purposes, but to prevent accidents from happening again.

Factors such as weather, noise, and environment contribute to accidents on the job. This training details the five step process in conducting an investigation and what factors to identify. The best way to identify certain factors is by using a Branching Diagram. This informative course explains what a Branching Diagram is and the benefits of using one.

Once the accident investigation has been completed, the supervisor must take action. Taking action includes short and long term solutions which are discussed with the employees. The video illustrates how these solutions should be implemented and how they can prevent accidents from happening again. The importance of documentation is demonstrated, including describing the accident, findings, and solutions. Follow-up procedures are explained as well.

Being safe on the job is important, but unfortunately accidents do occur. When accidents happen at work a thorough accident investigation must be completed. This training course details the step-by-step process of conducting an accident investigation and how proper investigations help lead to a safer workplace.
