Overview

Hot metal, intense light, noxious fumes, and heavy equipment are just some of the hazards welders face every day. It’s important for welders to be aware of potential hazards in order to reduce the risks of injury and property damage. This safety training course teaches welders what the dangers are and the precautions to take.

Some of the topics included in this course are the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE), how to protect the head and eyes, and safe work practices. Welding produces sparks and slag, as well as harmful light and rays that can severely damage the eyes and skin. In the section on PPE and Appropriate Clothing viewers learn shorts, short sleeved shirts, and shirts with open collars should never be worn while welding. Fire resistant clothing should be worn with all pockets and cuffs buttoned to prevent sparks from being caught. This course also explains the importance of keeping the work area free from debris, having proper ventilation, and other practical information.

Watch this training course to learn how to work safely in the welding environment.
