Overview

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is a leading authority on electrical safety. Their document, 70E, is recognized by OSHA and other regulatory authorities as the best work practices for electrical safety. The 2018 NFPA 70E, with its focus on protecting workers from the two main electrical hazards: shock hazard and arc-flash hazard, is the basis of this course.

With an explanation of the important updates and changes in the 2018 NFPA 70E, this course presents the principles and elements employers and employees must address during the requisite job briefing before an electrical job starts, most critical of which is verifying that an electrical worker is “Qualified.” This course goes on to demonstrate the work practices a qualified worker must know for several key safety areas. This course explores approach boundaries, arc-rated clothing, electrically safe work conditions, and the Energized Work Permit process.

Use this course to instill an understanding of the updated NFPA 70E regulation details and to show your qualified electrical workers the safe work practices and procedures they should follow to stay safe. This concise course makes for a great refresher training for experienced electrical workers.
