Overview

In order to safely handle hazardous materials, workers need to know the characteristics of the particular substance they are using. One of the best ways to provide information on hazardous materials is with a label. Use this online course to teach your workers about the different types of hazardous materials labels and how to use them properly.

This course disseminates five different types of labels developed for hazardous materials: DOT labels, United Nations identification numbers, Hazardous Materials Identification System labels, National Fire Protection Association labels, and EPA hazardous waste labels. Your workers learn how to read these different types of labels, and the importance of attaching them to all hazardous material containers.

By understanding the importance of labeling containers correctly, your employees help keep themselves and their workplace safe.

This course has been updated to include GHS container labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for GHS compliance.
