Orientation: Safety Orientation

Regardless of rank, title, or occupation, safety is something critical to us all at the workplace. Safe work practices are vital to follow; without them we would not be able to create a safe work environment. These practices may range from wearing the proper PPE to having the right mindset when coming into work, regardless of the practice itself you must make sure it is being followed. While getting the job done is important, the most important part is getting it done safely. You will learn a number of safe work practices, as well as how to best adhere to them, with this On Demand training lesson.

You may think being safe at work is primarily due to physical responses and practices, but mental preparation is key as well. After all, accidents are much more likely to occur to those who do not fully concentrate on the task at hand, or to those not fully aware of their surroundings. Let's face it - accidents happen even if we are trying to be safe, which is why you should also know how to react should an emergency occur, and you will after watching this video.
