Leading People: Leading, Not Managing People

Workers who are over-managed feel controlled and often lack motivation. This training video teaches managers how leading people is more effective than managing people.

Managers tend to monitor the daily work of those they manage. They often do this through a four-step process of planning, organizing, measuring, and controlling tasks. This management model is based on an organizational hierarchy separating members by position and department. On the other hand, leaders motivate others towards a common goal.
