Implement proper ergonomics to prevent injuries and increase productivity
Ergonomics is the study of human performance as it relates to the comfortable usage of our workspace and tools. Repetitive motion and stress can lead to serious Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), making ergonomics a critical factor in workplace safety. As defined by OSHA, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) affect the muscles, nerves, blood vessels, ligaments and tendons. Millions of workers are exposed to risk factors for MSDs, including workplaces such as offices, warehouses, restaurants and more.
Thirty-four percent of all injuries resulting in lost workdays are due to work-related MSDs. These injuries can be avoided when work environments are analyzed and adapted to be ergonomically correct. These training courses not only help organizations adapt jobs to make them safer for employees, but also train workers to work in ways to protect them from injury. Courses cover a wide-range of topics, such as ergonomics for office, industrial and laboratory workplaces, how to analyze risk for injury and how to utilize safe work practices.
