Permit-Required Confined Spaces

Confined spaces that have limited access or other hazards are considered permit required confined spaces. OSHA requires employers to protect employees in general industry from the hazards of entry into permit-required confined spaces by developing a permit required confined space program. This video training explores permit required confined spaces.

This training details the types of hazards resulting from working in a confined space, such as hazardous atmospheres, mechanical hazards, and engulfment hazards. Viewers learn about the different employee responsibilities related to safely working in a confined space, including atmospheric testing, and monitoring. This training shows examples of requirements for the entry permit and the role of the attendant.
