Workplace harassment can have serious consequences for employees and organizations. This online training helps California employees understand what constitutes sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and abusive conduct in the workplace. Learners will explore California-specific requirements and protections, including protected groups, employee rights, complaint procedures, and the legal consequences of harassment and retaliation.
The course covers important topics such as recognizing inappropriate and harassing behavior, understanding workplace retaliation, and learning how employees can safely intervene when they witness harassment. Learners will also examine real-world examples of retaliation and explore the Supreme Court case Faragher v. City of Boca Raton. The training addresses LGBT rights and workplace protections, as well as the importance of diversity, tolerance, respect, inclusion, and recognizing personal bias.
By completing this one-hour training, learners will have a better understanding of their role in creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. They will learn how to recognize inappropriate behavior, understand their rights and responsibilities, respond appropriately to harassment and retaliation, and help prevent these behaviors in the workplace.
